Abstract

Introduction: The research is based on a diagnosis, which confirmed the persistence of theoretical limitations for the inclusion of socially disadvantaged students in the practice of water sports, as well as a lack of gender-sensitive pathways and procedures, which denotes inadequate performance by socially disadvantaged students in practice and their exclusion in vulnerable communities.
Objective: To develop a gender-sensitive intervention strategy for the inclusion of socially disadvantaged students in the practice of water sports.
Materials and methods: The theoretical methods of scientific research employed were analytical-synthetic and systemic structural-functional methods. The empirical methods employed were documentary analysis and expert judgment. The mathematical-statistical methods employed were descriptive and inferential statistics.
Results: the new relationships that are revealed in the systemic interrelation between the components and categories of the intervention strategy, based on their definitions, the inclusive corrective method and didactic procedures, which gives the theory its essence, as well as the preventive procedure in the use of water sports as a means of inclusion, corroborating its feasibility based on the evaluative results issued by the selected experts.
Conclusions: The intervention strategy fosters the establishment of structural and functional relationships that explain how to contribute to the inclusion of socially disadvantaged students in the practice of water sports in vulnerable communities with a gender perspective. In implementing the intervention strategy, its feasibility was confirmed based on the favorable opinions of the experts.
