Dermatoglyphic characteristics in initiation fencers from the population point of view
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objective of this work is to determine the dermatoglyphic characteristics of the initiation fencers of the E IDE “Cerro Pelado” in Camagüey. The ten-digit lines were determined for 156 athletes, which are compared with the results of Rivero de la Calle, M. (1984), and their dermatoglyphic characteristics are determined. It is shown that in the Cuban population the proportions of the different designs are not affected by ethnic characteristics, and that the proportion of arches, loops and whorls in athletes, even when they are in the initiation phase, present characteristics that differentiate them from the normal Cuban population.
